Narrow Escape

Liverpool return to winning way after a unconvincing 3-2 defeat against a 10-man Boro team. It was a disappointed performance only to bail out by a Torres hatrick and a disallowed goal. It could be 3-3 if the goal was given.

Following the impressive win against Inter in the CL, many expect Liverpool to sweep past Boro. However, things got worse when Boro stole a 1-0 lead.

What on earth are they playing? What if Torres was not match fit? I really can't see Liverpool getting that fourth spot. With Everton and Villa in irresistable form, Liverpool might just lose out on the last CL spot and that will spell disaster.

Having secure huge debts, the last thing the club can ill afford is to fail to qualify for the CL. Everton and Villa has shown that without paying for large transfer fees, they can still compete with the best.

Liverpool, please learn from them!

Speedy Recovery

The picture tell a thousand words. Though I did not manage to witness the incident. I'm sure it was a horrific injury. The injury substained was enough to threaten a footballing career
I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you in action soon , Euarado!

Congrats Singapore!

Goal 2010 is now a reality and not dream. Singapore has made it! No, no, I'm not talking about The Lions 2010 World Cup dreams but rather the right to host the Youth Olympic in 2010.

With this trumiph, we showed the world that size does not matter if you dare to dream. Let's hope the Lions can achieve the impossible by qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.

Though it's only a mini Olympic compared to the one to Beijing this year, it is a start of the new era for Singapore Sports.

Well Done!

Advantage Anfield

The match was heading for a 0-0 scoreline when Kuyt deflected goal broke the heart of the Inter's players having defended solidly with 10 men following the dismissal of Metarazzi just 28 mins.

Liverpool created plenty of chances but just could not score. It look like the same Liverpool until the goal. Gerrard sealed the game in the 90th min.

With the 2-0 lead, Liverpool is in the drving seat for the quarter-final provided they must not get complacent. The pressure is off for Rafa at the moment.

I'm wondering why Liverpool can't play this way week in and week out. Maybe it's the special European night that transform the team. If they can't beat Boro this weekend, this result counts for nothing.

In the meanwhile, let us savour this sweet victory.

Utterly Disgraceful

Out of the title running, out of Carling Cup, struggling for the fourth spot, facing a tough Champion match against Inter Milan and now dumped out of the FA Cup 5th round by Barnsley at ANFIELD!
It was an embrassing result! When 5th round draw was made, I was delighted. The truth is Liverpool is in crisis. There's no two ways about it. If Liverpool fail to prgoress to the quarter final of the Champion League, it is the end of Rafa at Anfield.
When I was watching the game, there is no urgency from Liverpool. Perhaps their mind is on the Champion League match coming midweek or they are short of confidence. I am surely losing confidence in Rafa. The players played some part at the humiliating exit. Players like Alonso should not be wearing the Liverpool shirt again. He is often guilty of giving the ball away. Why did Rafa replace Babel with Kewell when the former was easily the best players on the pitch? What about Crouch? I forgotten if he was playing the match last nite.
The decision to give Rafa the sack will much depend the CL progress. Whatever it is, Rafa is not the man to lead Liverpool for the 17th title.
