Robbie so Keane on Liverpool

Great news for all Liverpool fans!
Robbie Keane has joined Liverpool from Spurs for 20 millions pound. The signing is indeed a welcome news for the Reds as there appear to have no movement on major signing two weeks prior to the start of the BPL.

Keane will no doubt add a new dimension to Liverpool's attack as evident during his days at Spurs. Keane has the pace and the ability to take on players. He can deployed as a striker or winger but his best position is being the second striker.

I expect the Torres - Keane partnership to explode in the EPL this season. The strike force will surely strike fear into opponent's defence.
Having said that, I expect Rafa to sign wingers with the news that Pennant is heading for the Anfield exit.

Go Keane!!

No Money..so No Keane and Barry

It was reported that Liverpool has no money to afford Barry and Keane. It is particularly sad at the things go in Liverpool. So far only two major signings - both defenders.

The new season will start in 2 weeks time and the lack of money has prevented Liverpool from buying their targets. Alonso is most likely to stay at Anfield, what Liverpool need is two wingers and a striker. With the departure of Crouch, Liverpool will be left only with two recognised strikers in Torres and Kuyt. Babel may be used as an emergency striker should one of them gets injured.

I am getting worried with the season starting soon. It seems that Rafa is planning for the future by signing youngsters.

The fate of liverpool challenging for the title can be seen from the first 10 matches. If they can keep pace with the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea, things will look more rosy.

Peter Crouch, Good Bye and Good Luck

Peter Crouch is the second high profile departure from Anfield following Riise transfer to Roma. After months of speculation, Crouch signed for Pompey in search for first team football.
Many will remember Crouch to break his Liverpool's scoring duck against Wigan in the 2005-2006 season. During his time with Liverpool, he impressed many with his silky skill despite his lanky height.
It is sad to see him go but we wish him best of luck in his career with Portsmouth.

Liverpool Transfer Activity

With slightly more than a month to the start of the new season, I am very disappointed in the transfer activity going around Liverpool FC.

So far, they have already signed Degen and Dosenna. With Villa refusing to compromise on Barry's transfer fees, Liverpool is simply wasting their time. Just what is Rafa thinking? Liverpool can well spend 18 million pounds on a quality winger or striker rather than a midfielder when Liverpool can plenty of them.

With Man City and Spurs splashing cash on players, Liverpool might find themselves outside the Top 4 for the first time in many years. Perhaps Rafa could not get enough funds. The player exchange method is a very good proof that funds aren't available for Rafa in getting the right players. Liverpool should let DIC take over in the first place.

Until now to the start of the season, things are not certainly not looking up for Liverpool in the transfer market.
