Both teams came into this match having drawn their last BPL matches against the new boys. Everton came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Hull City while Liverpool missed the chance to go top after a disappointing 0-0 draw with Stoke at Anfield.
With home ground advantage, Everton will want to avenge last year 2-1 defeat at home to the Reds. Kuyt 2 penalties gave the Reds the victory. Everton will be the happier of the two side for the match on Saturday. Torres, Keane and Gerrard fail to find the back of the net despite 20 corners and 20 attempts on goal, this will encourage The Toffees further. Though Andrew Johnson has left the club, the Blues have enough firepower to trouble the shaky Red's defence. Tim Cahill return from injury will boast the Blue's chances to claim victory.
Knowing Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea will bag 3 points on the weekend, Liverpool will need nothing less a victory to stay in touch with the Big 3. A defeat or a point coupled with the Big 3 victories will again leave the Reds chasing them early in the season.
My prediction is a 2-1 win for the Toffees.
