Torres Let Eveton Feel The Blues

With his only goal coming from the opening game away at Sunderland, Torres has been struggling to find his goal scoring touch. While Torre and Company fail to score at home to Stoke last weekend, one would wonder will Liverpool suffer a goal drought again.

After the 1st half at Goodison Park, many would point to another 0-0 draw for Liverpool. There was not much clear cut chance for both side. Both goalkeeper was having a good day.

Liverpool began the second half with more purpose. Ninteen minutes into the second half, Liverpool stung Everton. A good pass to Robbie Keane who brought the ball to the bye line and deliver a cross. The ball eluded the Blues's defence and onto the path of who else but Torres and slam the ball on the volley through Howard's leg. Goodison was silenced. Liverpool began to dominate possession. Four minutes later, Liverpool struck again. Nice build up play allow the ball into the Everton's box. Keane left it to Torres who made a no mistake from 10

yards. It was 2-0 to Liverpool.

Torres thought he had his hatrick minutes later but was disallowed as Kuyt was judged to have pushed a Everton defender. Tim Cahill was dismissed at the 80th mintues following a rough tackle on Alonso. At this time, the match was effectively over. Liverpool then hung on to another famous Merseyside derby win. Liverpool top the table for at least 3 hours.
